Restaurant Princeton, NJRiscala Agnese Design Group

PROJECT OVERVIEW

In Princeton, NJ the JM Restaurant Group sought to expand their highly-acclaimed portfolio of restaurants with Kristine’s – a fresh take on the traditional French bistro right in the heart of downtown. The goal of the design, brought to life by Riscala Agnese Design Group, was to create a space that would remind one of being right in Paris, and to form a welcoming ambiance where guests could enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an environment that was well suited for both business and pleasure.

The design of the interior follows a traditional bistro theme replete with a zinc bar, café windows, scrolled plaster walls, outside café seating and of course, melodic French bistro music. However, rather than the traditional dark woods of many bistros, the team opted for brighter finishes to coincide with the lighter hand of the menu. Garden State Tile specially sourced a custom-made natural stone mosaic as a unique alternative that stayed on-theme.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

On the floors of main dining room, a honed Bianco Carrara fan mosaic was procured by Garden State Tile for a top quality, durable and timeless option at a desirable price point. The inspiration for this unique mosaic originally started as a piano key layout. The Garden State Tile team took this inspiration and collaborated closely with Italian manufacturers to find the perfect quality stone.

Once sampled the design was modified to a stunning 1”x1” Bianco Carrara fan mosaic, where it was then finalized and sent for production in Italy. The custom designed product selection paired with a flawless installation helped to achieve that “bright and airy” aesthetic while simultaneously setting the mood for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience.
