PROJECT OVERVIEW
Garden State Tile supplied Crossville Empire Porcelain Stone, specified by Kate Cashdollar, Senior Interior Designer for Noelker and Hull Associates, Inc., for a two-story, 4,500 square foot addition to the Gettysburg College Admissions Building. The new addition serves as the welcome center for perspective students and their families, creating a beautiful first impression of what Gettysburg College has to offer. Upon entering the building guests are greeted by a custom waterjet cut logo inset to the tile floor, which is also seen top-down from the second story corridor. Along with the new aesthetic, the primary goal of the renovation was to create a more accessible building since the original had multiple levels, but no elevator.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Empire Porcelain Stone by Crossville, Inc. was selected in General’s Grey, Cadet White and Black Swan colors with an unpolished finish. Alternating 12×24 and 6×24 custom “get planked” sizes were selected to add an appealing depth to the space that replicates the look and feel of natural marble. A portion of the material was waterjet cut to create the crystal-clear Gettysburg College logo that was inset into the flooring for a cohesive visual that grabs the attention of visitors.
Empire Porcelain Stone was the ideal choice for the project thanks to its sophisticated V3 shading, grand sizes and budget friendly price point that offer solutions for both beauty and functionality. The collection is made up of 20% pre-consumer recycled content and is virtually maintenance free, making it a model choice for high-traffic interiors.
